Webinar: Defending Alaska's Correspondence School Allotment Program

Webinar: Defending Alaska's Correspondence School Allotment ProgramWatch Alaska Policy Forum’s recent webinar about the pending lawsuit against Alaska’s correspondence school allotment program and Q&A with attorneys from the public-interest law firm Institute for Justice (IJ).

Alaska’s correspondence school programs help families meet the unique educational needs of their children. In January 2023, a lawsuit was filed challenging the correspondence program. Concerned parents, with help from IJ, have intervened to defend this important program.

IJ attorneys Kirby West and David Hodges joined Sarah Montalbano for a presentation and Q&A about the case against Alaska’s correspondence school allotment program. Ms. West explains some of the background and history of school choice litigation nationwide as well as the specifics of the case in Alaska. After the presentation, Ms. West and Mr. Hodges fielded many excellent questions from the audience.
