Alaska Policy Forum joined many public policy organizations on two coalition letters recommending that the Securities & Exchange Commission abandon its climate disclosure proposal. The Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed mandating corporations to “disclose energy use and planning for climate change-related financial risks . . . The point of requiring disclosure of climate-related information is to drive capital away from energy-intensive firms.”
Led by our partners at The Heritage Foundation and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the two letters “make the case that the SEC’s proposal is ‘arbitrary and capricious’ and, therefore should not be implemented.”
